AroView: A technicolor remastering of director Florian Habicht’s singular debut feature which was originally presented in black-and-white.

It’s a remarkable and surrealistic melding of New Zealand setting and Germanic sensibility in which a sad fairytale narrative is enacted, sung and staggered across the local rural landscape. Shot on DV to a pre-recorded soundtrack, the numerous aesthetic disjunctions fit its wanly carnivalesque atmosphere in a perfectly original manner.
