Walkabout
AroView: An English schoolgirl (Jenny Agutter) and her brother end up abandoned by their geologist father in the Australian Outback, where they are left to contend with the harsh wilderness on their own, before meeting an Aboriginal boy (David Gulpilil).
British maverick director Nicolas Roeg’s follow-up to “Performance” is an Australian classic that goes in for boldly overstated (and effective) symbolism, taking a visual fascination with landscape and its lifeforms to surreal extremes.
