The County

A quintessentially Icelandic serio-comedy from the director of “Rams” (2015) about one woman’s fight against a monopolistic co-op stifling the livelihoods of farmers in a remote valley near Reykjavik.

This David vs. Goliath story plays out in a windswept hamlet, where a widowed farmer (Arndis Hronn Egilsdottir, in a quietly defiant performance) is grieving the unexpected death of her husband while going up against the male dominated agriculture industry.
