AroView: This French romantic comedy-drama takes a contrived premise and turns it into a surprisingly fresh take on the genre that delivers complicated answers to the simple question posed by the title.
The ever-engaging Laure Calamy and Vincent Macaigne play a divorced couple who find themselves having to justify reasons for their marriage annulment before a Catholic church hierarchy in order for him to tie the knot with another woman. Forced into the discomfort of having to reassess their once-married relationship, an extended family trip to the Vatican serves to bring out the best and comedic worst in all of them before a touching and genuinely uplifting finale.
“Tremendously funny and moving.” ~Catherine Balle, Le Parisien
