Timestalker

AroView: British comedienne Alice Lowe (Sightseers, 2013) wrote and directed this pretty hilarious tour through the centuries that steals an inspired lick from ‘Time Bandits’ reimagined as a dark romantic comedy.

She’s priceless as an unhappily shackled woman who keeps falling for another man who proves to be woefully unsuitable whether he’s incarnated as an old romantic highwayman or a new romantic pop star. The premise provides for a cornucopia of cosplay and social satire that won’t be for everyone, but will ripely entertain fans of The Mighty Boosh and Black Adder, or fellow Brit funny women like Jennifer Saunders or Miranda Hart.
