Sightseers
AroView: Ben Wheatley directs this black comedy about a wooly British couple who embark on a caravan trip throughout the North of England, only to find their peace – and violent tendencies – disturbed by various colorful encounters.
Combining the travelogue humour of “The Trip” with the neurotic, socially inept cadences of, say, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, the script could have done with another lick or two, but it is a great vehicle for its two lead actors, who are seasoned comedians in their own right, and are particularly adept at generating sympathy despite their cringe-worthy personas.
