Vincent Cassel plays an innovative businessman and grieving widower who has built a device to connect with the dead inside a burial shroud. But when the high-tech tombs are mysteriously vandalized, a complex conspiracy unravels, further complicated by the presence of his deceased wife’s identical twin sister (Diane Kruger).
This forensic investigation into writer-director David Cronenberg’s own grief as a widower is a veritable feast of his abiding themes and motifs, and may well be the 82-year-old director’s swansong.
