70s pop idol David Essex dissolves some of his own pop myth as the band leader who finds disillusionment at the top. Indictment of the music industry cuts through the familiar fable with vivid production detail and a blow-out finale. ‘The Cats’ include Dave Edmunds, Paul Nicholas, and one Keith Moon.
