Led by Noddy Holder, British glam rockers Slade star as ‘Flame’, a fictitious version of the long-haired quartet who run the gauntlet of rock fame in late 1960s London in the classic tradition of the genre. Achieving critical acclaim years after its release, the film benefits from a downbeat and gritty realism, and the hindsight of seeing an authentic 70s subculture exposed beneath the pretence of fiction.
The soundtrack album produced two hit singles, “Far Far Away” and “How Does It Feel”.
