AroView: A sensational twist on the ‘amnesiac’ thriller that perfectly matches its subject with an intricate narrative that unfolds almost completely from back to front.
The seemingly implausible story of an insurance investigator who suffers from a chronic form of short-term amnesia is somehow rationalised by a script and performances that play it impeccably straight - Guy Pearce re-invents himself in the hard-boiled role. The whole conceit is remarkably sustained until the end, and it ironically impacts as a film that would be almost impossible to forget.
