Let Me In

AroView: An American remake of “Let the Right One In” that elevates the style and menace of the Swedish vampire hit with special attention paid to the relationship between a bullied youngster and his undead next-door neighbour.

By virtue of its faithfulness to the original material, this loses some of its impact as a second run at John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel, though it does a fine job of replicating the story’s key scenes, and even adds a thrilling car chase sequence to the mix. Central to its distinctiveness, though, is its tender portrayal of adolescent romance, with Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee both superb in challenging roles.
