In My Skin (Dans Ma Peau)
AroView: A disturbing, cerebral manifesto on the nature of self-mutilation, portrayed with serious conviction by writer/dir. Marina de Van, regular collaborator of Francois Ozon.
Injured at a house party, de Van plays a seemingly contended woman soon obsessed with the look and feel of damaged flesh. Carefully avoiding exploitation, this lacerates as an interior horror, concerned above all with the disfigurement of the mind – although its rather gruesome scenes of bodily reconstitution are also bound to get under your skin.
