Down Terrace

AroView: Uncomfortable kitchen sink drama by way of an organised crime thriller, centred on a family of Brighton low-lifes seeking revenge on a snitch who dobbed in their father and son to the authorities.

Trudging through grim working-class material, a la Mike Leigh and Ken Loach, this makes for bleak viewing at the best of times, though does possess a black comedy streak to redeem even its most degenerative moments.
