The Skin I Live In
AroView: A gracefully middle-aged Antonio Banderas returns for Spanish maestro Pedro Almodovar to play an obsessive plastic surgeon whose development of a synthetic human skin requires an unwitting guinea pig.
Best not to give too much away of the complex twists that unfurl, but it’s the closest the director has come to the science-fiction genre than ever before - teasing, tantalizing and skin-crawling all at the same time, bound up in his fetish for skin of both the organic and material kinds. Gorgeous score by Alberto Iglesias is another bonus.
