Another intelligent and thought-provoking French crime drama from the director of Aro Favourite, “Only the Animals” (2019).

It’s more concentrated in scope and quite deceptive in its conventions of following a police investigation into the seemingly random death of a young woman. The investigative procedure is a compelling one that offers no easy answers but plenty to say about crimes of passion and the culture that fosters them.
