The Big Sick
AroView: Pakistan-born comedian Kumail Nanjiani (SILICON VALLEY) and Zoe Kazan find the right chemistry in this winning culture clash rom-com that rings satisfyingly true, based as it is on the real-life courtship of Nanjiani and his partner, who co-wrote the script.
When Kazan’s character contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail must navigate the crisis with her feisty parents and the emotional tug-of-war between his family and his heart.
“So well acted and dense with insights into the culture clash at its center that nothing about the central dynamic is strained.” ~Indiewire
