Within the placid, sunlit confines of the summer-house setting, a strangely symbiotic relationship develops between them - and Rampling begins to write her unwanted companion into her latest novel… Seductively filmed, this accesses a shifting scenario similar to Roman Polanski’s films, with use of water symbolism and undercurrents of sexual competition.
