AroView: Involving French character drama, which observes the cracks in a woman’s family dynamic when her elderly mother must move in with her due to poor health. More observational than narrative-driven, this is a slow-burning offering from dir. Techine, who prefers to let silence speak volumes. The base selfishness of almost every character makes for unappetizing truths, however.
