David Dastmalchian is excellent as the widowed show host fighting for his life in a late night ratings war, and the acting, script and production design go to great lengths to ensure an audience fully suspend their disbelief. It’s gripping, diabolical fun for all the (R13) family, and all the more impressive for having been made on a Melbourne sound stage in 2023.
