Death of a Unicorn

1h 47m Comedy, Black Comedy, Fantasy, Horror 2025

AroView: A crowd-pleasing black comedy from A24 that is typically subversive yet also solidly entertaining.

While it’s a monster movie at heart where the monsters are unicorns - which doubles as a sly joke in the tech business world - it’s also a Faustian tale in which the mystical creatures bring out the human monster in all who attempt to exploit their magical powers. This cast are a blast, led my Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as father and daughter at ethical odds, Richard E. Grant as an unscrupulous billionaire and a brilliantly deadpan Will Poulter as his idle idiot son.

“Death of a Unicorn is incredibly entertaining. It’s weird and a bit goofy (in the best way), with a satisfying ending and character interactions that are off the wall.” ~Mae Abdulbaki, Screen Rant

“Death of a Unicorn is a delight; a clever, sharp-horned, and violent horror-comedy that demands to be seen on the big screen with an audience.” ~Nate Richard, Collider
