AroView: The first installment of the uber-popular book franchise (by Stephanie Meyer) sees lonely teenage girl Bella fall in love with Edward, a vampire in the body of a 17-year-old dreamboat, and risking everything - including her life - to be with him.

Faithful to the book, fans will not be disappointed, and will lap up the supernatural atmos, the ‘emo’ soundtrack and the swoony Robert Pattinson (and his hair gel), but dyed-in-the-blood vampire fans will likely find this a bit toothless. Dir. Catherine Hardwicke (THIRTEEN, LORDS OF DOGTOWN) bypasses her usual shock teen antics, instead providing a moody, brooding “American Gothic” version of Romeo and Juliet, or even Mills & Boon.
