Trash Humpers

1h 17m Comedy, Horror 2009

An experimental black comedy from renegade film-maker Harmony Korine, focused on a gang of faux-elderly people who spend their time roaming back alleys, vandalising, causing trouble, tormenting passers-by and, er, humping trash.

What follows is a chaotic, nihilistic, and perhaps nightmarish journey into the dark underside of small-town America, all shot in Nashville through with a VHS aesthetic that lends the film a found footage quality.

“It’s like watching a homemade VHS made by some anonymous high school gang of mildly pervy, goofball friends to amuse themselves one weekend when they had nothing better to do… Like all of Korine’s output, Trash Humpers is art presented as trash or the other way around…” ~Jim Emerson, RogerEbert.com
