The Spanish Apartment (L'auberge espagnole)
AroView: Summery comedy set in a Barcelona apartment, where six international exchange students variously mingle, cavort and fall messily in love.
Although accommodating more than a few Euro-cliches in its characters, this still manages to evoke a whimsical, frothy and diverting vision of youth. Edges towards screwball comedy at times, with the Catalan exoticism of its setting providing a great backdrop. Followed by sequels “Russian Dolls” & “Chinese Puzzle”.
