Stand by Me
AroView: River Phoenix, Will Wheaton, Jerry O’Connell and Corey Feldman are terrific as four tight-knit friends who journey across 50s rural Maine to check out a dead body. This Stephen King adaptation has its darker moments, but a genuine feeling for childhood adventure and nostalgia lights this particular quest, and it has since become a signature film based on the author’s work and an iconic film of the era.
