Siddharth
AroView: A bracing neo-realist drama from the director of AMAL about a tea-seller from Delhi who travels across India in search of his missing son, believed to have been abducted by child-traffickers.
Synopsis: Mehendra is a chain wallah, making a living fixing zippers on the bustling streets of New Delhi. To ease his financial woes, he sends twelve year old Siddharth to work in a distant factory. When the boy doesn’t come home for the Diwali holiday, Mehendra and his wife Suman slowly begin to suspect that he was kidnapped by child traffickers.
“This quietly impassioned indictment of child-labor takes its time to get going but then builds steadily to a surprisingly strong finale. ” ~ Neil Young, The Hollywood Reporter.
