Sally in our Alley
A British soldier goes off to fight in World War I, and his girlfriend waits and worries at home. He is soon wounded in battle. When he realizes that he is crippled, he comes to the conclusion that she would be better off believing that he was killed so she can get on with her life.
AroView: Gracie Fields became an instant star in her debut as a heartbroke girl who, on moving to London, hits it off splendid with the Cockneys. A lightweight English comedy considered a strong influence on the Ealing comedy style.
