AroView: A fictionalized account of jury proceedings based on an infamous unsolved murder of a high-profile French woman in Cork in 1996.
Versatile German actress Vicky Krieps leads an outstanding, mostly Irish cast as the juror who plants a seed of doubt in a jury all too willing to convict the prime suspect – an unsavoury journalist (played by Colm Meaney) who was never put on trial. As a speculative piece, this compelling drama is not so much interested in the outcome as it is exposing the fascinating subjectivity of human judgement.
“It masterfully uses the ghost of a real tragedy to perform an autopsy on the very anatomy of conviction, forcing an uncomfortable but essential look at how we construct truth from the fragments of our own lives.” ~Naser Nahandian, Gazettely
