Kenny
Aroview: Played so dead-pan that it’s hard to tell if it’s a really a put-on, this smash hit Aussie comic ‘documentary’ about a philosophical porta-loo specialist has toilet humour as its stock-in-trade, but settles into being an insightful character study of an ordinary, decent bloke.
Further down-trodden by his no-status profession, Kenny’s blue-collar Joe is divorced, overweight and has a thick lisp, but he compensates with his wit, sincerity and a kind of unshakable optimism that also made Michael Caton’s character in THE CASTLE a bona fide Aussie working-class hero.
