Juniper
AroView: The iconic Charlotte Rampling lends her considerable kudos to this local production as a cantankerous, wheel-chair bound alcoholic who makes a late-life bid to visit her New Zealand relatives.
But instead of reconnecting with her son (Marton Csokas), she is entrusted in the reluctant care of her seventeen-year-old grandson, who is suffering depression in the wake of losing his mother. The strong-willed pair find themselves at loggerheads before they start to understand the person beneath the bravado.
George Ferrier impresses in the central role of Sam in this feature writer-directing debut of Matthew J. Saville, with a soundtrack by Marlon Williams.
