Helen Kelly – Together

1h 32m Documentary 2019

An intimate, inspirational portrait of Helen Kelly in the last year of her life.

Brilliant, funny and indefatigable, Helen Kelly was a giant of social justice movements in New Zealand when, at the height of her career, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and forced to stand down as president of the Council of Trade Unions and from the International Labour Organisation.

She proceeded to embark on a mission to find justice for the wives and mothers of those who perished in the Pike River coal mine disaster, and on the job in forestry, to listen to the vulnerable and stand up to those in power, with staggering generosity epitomising the best of the NZ character.
