AroView: A bold and distinctive film from director Pablo Larrain (NO), with newcomer Mariana Di Girolamo playing a young dancer who is coping with an adoption gone awry.
Her husband, a choreographer played by Larrain regular Gael García Bernal, is traumatised in his own way, and they are falling apart, but express their grief through vivid street dance. Girolamo’s performance is a force of nature, leading numerous incredible dance sequences set to a pulsating score. A brilliantly adventurous melodrama about coping with loss and the breakdown of a family, from a director at the height of his game.
“A stirring melodrama, a compelling character study, a hallucinatory mood piece and a rollicking dance movie all at once.” ~THE AU REVIEW
