AroView: A giant, malevolent extraterrestrial terrorizes New York City in this dazzling cult creature-feature-with-a-twist: the action is caught, BLAIR WITCH-style, on home video by a bunch of downtown cool kids.
Hinged on an airbrushed 20-something who risks almost certain death to save his high school sweetheart, the film’s exhilarating, high-concept execution ultimately compensates. Quite literally deploying the viewer into the midst of 9⁄11-styled chaos, the impressive special effects and relentless first person perspective should further endear this to the YouTube generation and beyond. Not recommended for vertigo sufferers, though!
