AroView: A devilishly effective black comedy about a pair of old friends who enter into an increasingly bloody game of one-upmanship with a wealthy couple offering cash for dares.
Not called ‘Cheap Thrills’ for nothing, this indeed delivers on its promise of escalating, never-predictable stunts that will make genre fans squeal with delight, while mounted on a pertinent subtext of the human will subjected to the indignities of financial hardship and the norms of reality television. This four-hander is also extremely well cast, with David Koechner as the charismatic but dangerous prankster a particular standout.
