AroView: A lively comedy adapted from the stage musical that follows a teenage native Australian who runs away from Catholic boarding school in the mid 1960’s.
Fairly unique in Australian cinema for presenting sunny role models for their indigenous people, this has its big heart in the right place even if it misses the polish of the big-budget Hollywood-Broadway model. Family-friendly, this is careful not to touch on any raw nerves of historical injustice, instead playing mostly for light laughs to please the broadest possible crowd.
