Alone
AroView: Jules Willcox is superb in this tense, tautly-directed indie thriller as a grieving, lone woman flees the city in search of solace only to be randomly and relentlessly persecuted by a psychopath.
The premise is nothing new, but primal fears are evergreen in the splendour of the Pacific Northwest, and the film feels like a modern refresher that expertly deploys deep-focus and drone photography as suspense tools.
“Alone is exactly what it sells — a taut, hot-wired survival thriller. With its gaunt storytelling, meaty characters, and high-stakes action, the film delivers on all fronts.” ~Michael Roffman, Consequence
