AroView: Anchored by a riveting performance from Letitia Wright (Small Axe), this is a devastating portrait of a Nigerian asylum seeker in Ireland who is caught in the wheels of bureaucracy and facing the grave prospect of deportation.

Aisha’s only respite comes from an unlikely friendship with a kindly security guard (Josh O’Connor) at her holding facility. It’s a social justice drama of the highest calibre from Irish writer-director Frank Berry who, carrying a torch lit in modern cinema by Ken Loach (I, Daniel Blake), illuminates the plight of illegal refugees with compassion and complexity.
