Biographical drama based on the extraordinary life and academic career of pioneering Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan (Dev Patel) and his friendship with his mentor, Professor G.H. Hardy.

Growing up poor in Madras, India, he earns admittance to Cambridge University during WWI, where he becomes a pioneer in mathematical theories with the guidance of his professor Hardy (Jeremy Irons).
