Shaun of the Dead
AroView: Playful and wildly entertaining parody of the zombie movie genre featuring the distinctive humour of writer-director Edgar Wright and writer-star Simon Pegg.
Centred around the disheveled daily grind of a hardware salesman (Pegg), his slovenly flatmate and his fed-up girlfriend, this has unlikely characters worth rooting for and wrings many laughs out of the sometimes imperceptible line between the living and dead. Perhaps resembles the ‘real thing’ a little too closely in the final reel, but this will still go down (with a pint or two no doubt) as a classic of the genre.
