Ride in the Whirlwind
AroView: Monte Hellman’s “Acid Western” made on a low budget for producer Roger Corman, and famously shot back-to-back with “The Shooting” (1966).
Both films eschew the sentimentalism of traditional Westerns, and are notable for showcasing the edgy charisma of a young Jack Nicholson as one of a trio of cowboys who are forced to become outlaws due to a case of mistaken identity. Harry Dean Stanton makes an impression also, in an early role.
