AroView: This Iranian romantic comedy-drama stars an adorable Lili Farhadpour as a lonely seventy-year-old who is inspired to have a bit of excitement in her life after years of being worn down by motherhood, widowhood and the repressions of the Islamic Republic.

Baked with just the right balance of bitter and sweet, it’s a defiant reclamation and celebration of her agency that unsurprisingly got the film-makers into official hot water. But politics aside, the film is about the wonderful things that can happen when a person dares to put their foot forward, into a random universe that has its own ideas about what happens next…
