Day of the Animals
A rabid, bloodthirsty entry in the post-JAWS low-budget animals-run-amok genre (caused by the Ozone depletion, no less), this is 70’s B-movie gold from master copycat filmmaker William Girdler, who stirs up quite the atmosphere in pursuit of cheap genre thrills.
It’s shot in handsome Panavision and features an enjoyably game cast, including a scenery-chewing Leslie Nielsen (The Naked Gun), Richard Jaeckel, Andrew Stevens, and royal B-movie acting couple Christopher George and Lynda Day George.
