AroView: Francis Ford Coppola’s opulent update of the gothic legend. Gary Oldman’s incarnation of the fanged one is most impressive here, as are the gorgeous visual effects and the rich orchestral score. Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves and Anthony Hopkins round out the famous, if hardly authentic, cast.
After centuries alone in his crumbling castle, Transylvanian prince Dracula’s taste for humanity has grown bold with desire, drawing him out of seclusion and bound for 19th century London in search of human love. When he meets Mina, a young woman who appears as the reincarnation of his lost love, the two embark on a journey of romantic passion and horror.
