The Last Suit
Touching drama about a Polish-born Holocaust survivor who travels from Buenos Aires to Lodz to fulfill a promise he made nearly 70 years earlier.
Escaping a family intent on confining him to a nursing home, Abraham leaves Buenos Aires in search of the man who, over 70 years ago, saved him from certain death. With assistance from a roll call of generous strangers, the sharply-dressed suit maker makes his way across Europe to Poland, undeterred by travel mishaps, family foibles and geographical obstacles.
A heartfelt and charming film with a wonderful comedic flavour.
“Much like David Lynch’s “The Straight Story,” a broken-down Abraham is forced to accept the kindness of strangers along his journey. In return, this proud Jewish tailor bestows the life wisdom that came at a terrible price.” ~ J.R. Kinnard, The Seattle Times.
